Who are we?
Shine Like Stars Inc. works with on the ground charities within Pakistan. We are a registered Australian charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. We are also an incorporated association with the state of Tasmania, Australia.
We are the proud partners of Community Link Programme (CLiP) who have nearly 20 years experience working directly with some of Pakistan’s most disadvantaged communities. CLiP and their energetic volunteers come from Islamabad. We have also worked with The Cecil Welfare Society in Faisalabad.
Meet the Team
The Shine Like Stars team is made up of Australian Christians with a heart for disadvantaged communities in Pakistan.
Janet is a public school English-as-an-Additional-Language support teacher who has worked with students from kinder to grade 12 including minors from Pontville Detention Centre. Janet has a wide range of volunteer experience in schools and community organisations. She is married to Graham and they have 3 children. Janet is an elder at IC Church, Glenorchy.
Phillip is a small businessman with a long history of community service. Through his recently closed business Booth’s Body Works in Moonah he has been involved in training and mentoring youth for decades. He is also a past member of Jaycees and the Hobart Motorcycle Club. Phillip is the Project Co-ordinator for the Glenorchy Churches Food Distribution Program. He has 3 adult children and worships at IC Church, Glenorchy.
Graham is the founder of the Hobart based software company Tasmanian Business Software that provides programming services and ERP software to small and medium sized enterprises. He has considertable experience with organisational set-up and governance. He is married to Janet. Graham is an elder at IC Church, Glenorchy and President of the Glenorchy churches Glenorchy Community Care.
